The Ontario government has announced it is providing $1,502,534 to the Town of Milton to help address ongoing COVID-19 related operating costs. This new provincial investment of $500 million to municipal partners builds on the funding that was provided through the joint federal-provincial Safe Restart Agreement in 2020.
Today’s funding announcement helps to ensure Milton can continue to deliver important services to residents and businesses during the pandemic. It also allows Milton to manage revenue losses in areas that were most affected through the recent six-week lockdown, while leaving the Town additional financial capacity through the recovery of the pandemic.
This funding announcement is the latest in a series of important financial supports that the Town has received from the Federal and Provincial governments through the pandemic. The town of Milton is very thankful to MPP Parm Gill, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, MPP Steve Clark, and Premier Doug Ford for these important contributions to our community, as we move forward through the pandemic together.
